In loving memory of ROBERTA (BOBBIE) LEE NILSSON, born in Lethbridge, AB on April 22, 1959 to the late Isaac Wiens and Louella Striemer. Bobbie passed away on August 28, 2020 in Lethbridge, AB after a long and courageous 5-year battle with cancer. Through the disease she remained positive, happy and strong. She had an infectious laugh and loved being around family and friends.
Bobbie enjoyed playing softball and bowling and was an avid bingo player, which is where she met her future husband. She was a very good cook and worked at numerous restaurants including Denny’s and Humpties.
Bobbie married Alan Nilsson on August 23, 2003 and lived in Edmonton for several years before moving back to Lethbridge. Bobbie got a job at Columbia Assisted Living where she became head cook and kitchen manager. She then worked as a cook at Winner’s Bingo until her health forced her to quit. Bobbie loved to travel, especially to the mountains of BC. She had a deep love of the ocean and dolphins. Her favorite place to travel was to Disneyland, where she went several times with her husband, daughter and grandchildren.
Left to mourn her passing is her loving husband, Alan; daughter, Sherri (Josh) Hart and grandson, Tristan of Lethbridge; step-children, Stacy (Clayton) West of Raymond, Brad (Emelia) Nilsson of Raymond, Landon (Megan) Nilsson of Stirling, Rylan (Tamarra) Nilsson of Calgary and Jayden Nilsson of Raymond; also Step-grandchildren, Maggie, Easton, Calyssa, Katelyn, Addison, Sophia, Owen; Her parents-in-law Russel and Karma Nilsson of Raymond. Also missed by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, step-siblings and friends, especially special friends Louann and Tracey and her forever best friend - her cousin Holly. Besides her parents, Bobbie was predeceased by her four sisters, Velma, Judy, Betty May and Ann.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Royal View Memorial Cemetery, North Lethbridge, Alberta on Wednesday, September 9th, at 1:00 pm. Those who wish to attend are welcome - Social distancing.
