Denise loved change and was fearless about meeting new people and “starting again”. In 1975, John and Denise emigrated to Canada so that they could provide the very best opportunities for their children. Despite living in Canada for 47 years, she was always proud of her British heritage and held fond memories of her time there.
Family was everything to her and being a valiant member of the Gospel of Jesus Christ allowed her to be sealed with her family for time and all eternity. She was a pioneer missionary of the Gospel and because of her efforts and example, many of her family have a testimony of the restored Gospel.
Though many of her proudest moments involved those spent with her family, she was always passionate about helping others. Her talent for communication, her post-secondary education in Public Relations, and her role as the Western Canada Area Manager for the Employment Services of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints allowed her to help many, many people.
Denise suffered a long battle with the autoimmune disease Lupus however she refused to let it define who she was nor hinder her desire to love and help others. She often connected with others suffering with the same disease and offered a listening and sympathetic ear to their struggles.
Denise loved the Saviour and consistently sought to follow His example of loving and helping others. She made it her lifelong mission to “succor the weak, lift up the hands that hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees” of those she came in contact with. Indeed, many groups and individuals came to know of their divine worth because of her display of Christlike love and service. Denise loved everyone equally.
She will be missed. Her lifetime and legacy of love – her love for her husband, her love for her family, her love for others - is eternal, and without limits.
We know that we will see her again.
Friends may meet the family on Sunday, January 9th, 2022 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston, AB.
