Mary Georgean (Caldwell) Olsen passed away peacefully in her home on the Ranch with all her children by her side on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at the age of 95 years.
Georgean leaves behind her cherished posterity: children Nolen (Vicky) Olsen, Terrie (Drew) Bullock, Mary (Robert) Woolf, Maxwell (Keiko) Olsen, Paula (Locke) Marshall; 17 (plus their  spouses) Grandchildren; 48 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family. Besides her beloved husband Ben, Georgean is predeceased by her infant daughter Lynna.
Georgean was born on September 24, 1930, in Calgary, Alberta, and was lovingly adopted as an infant by Maxwell and Mary Caldwell of Hill Spring, Alberta. Their devotion and unwavering love shaped the foundation of her remarkable life.
A gifted pianist from childhood, Georgean earned her ARCT music degree and shared her talents generously throughout her life. She was sought after and well known for her talents and abilities in music. She served as church pianist and organist for many years and taught piano lessons to generations of students, inspiring a love of music that became part of her enduring legacy.
In March of 1954, Ben Royce Olsen walked into her life at the Treasury Branch Bank where she was working. After a quick courtship they were married on July 22, 1954, and then sealed for time and all eternity in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They lived life to the fullest together for 62 years before Ben passed away. Together they built a life centered on faith, hard work, hospitality, and family.
Georgean and Ben made their forever home on the Ranch between the Crooked Creek and the Waterton River, where they raised their family and created a gathering place filled with laughter, music, and love. She made her home a safe place, with her listening ear, open heart, and an abundance of delicious food. Surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains she loved, Georgean enjoyed the blessings of nature that surrounded her. She enjoyed growing plants and flowers inside and out; her home was always filled with the proof of her green thumbs.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Georgean served diligently throughout her life in many callings, especially with music. Alongside Ben, they dedicated 23 years of continuous service in the Cardston Alberta Temple on Thursday afternoons and made many cherished friends. Her love of the Savior guided her life.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy continues in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, students, and countless friends whose lives she touched.

The Funeral service will be held Monday, June 15th, 2026 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mountain View, Alberta.  Friends may meet the family from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the service.  Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
