JUNE LEAVITT OLSEN passed peacefully from this world on Saturday February 20, 2016 at the age of 89 years.
June was born on May 31, 1926 in Cardston, Alberta to Matthew Leavitt and Ella Broadbent Leavitt. She was raised in Leavitt, Alberta with a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains which she loved. On December 20, 1944 she married Ned James Olsen of Beazer in the Cardston Alberta Temple. June worked along side of her sweetheart on their farm outside of Cardston while employed for 25 years in the Cardston Post Office. June spent her life in the service of others. She especially enjoyed sharing her gift of music as she played the piano for many appreciative people young and old in the community and church. June faithfully served in the LDS church throughout her life.
June is survived by her children Eric (Cheryl), LaRae (Murray) McKinnon, Merv (Melanie Leavitt), Thaine (Terry), Roy (Connie), Diana (Ed) Mackenzie; 23 Grandchildren and 39 Great Grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband Ned, a son Marvin in infancy, daughter in-law Kathy Olsen, grandson Ryan Leavitt, great granddaughter Katherine Robertson.
Friends may meet the family at LEGACY FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, February 25th from 7-8 pm or at the church on Friday, February 26th from 10-10:45 am prior to the service.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, SOUTH HILL CHAPEL Cardston, on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11am. Interment to follow in the Beazer Cemetery.
