Joan Kathleen Panther Bone A'poot'aki (Flying Woman) was born March 14th, 1941 to Charles (A'ksipiika) and Louise (Po'kaa'pinaki) Panther Bone at the Indian Hospital on the Blood Reserve. Kathleen was raised in the thirty tree's (Nii'pookskoo) on the southeast side of Kainai, like many of our people Kathleen attended residential school.
After 6th grade Kathleen had dedicated herself to her parents, helping them around the house. She and her sister Justine A'paan'aki (butterfly women) worked at the Rex cafe and old chief cafe where they were waitresses and washed dishes, with all earnings going towards their parents. Kathleen was well known for her sense of humour, making people laugh was easy for her.
A'poot'aki was predeceased by her parents Charles (A'ksi'piikakii) and Louise (Po'kaa'pi'naki), daughter Anna Marie (Dolly) Panther Bone
Grandson Benjamin (Ben) White Quills. Siblings Cecil Wolf Child, Emma and George Many Feathers, Eva Spotted Bull, Margaret Morning Owl, and her younger sister Valentine Matheson.
Kathleen leaves behind her Son Joe Panther Bone, grandson Jarrett (Beth) Panther Bone, granddaughter Amber (Irvin) Panther Bone. Great grandchildren Seaanna, Saxton, Adrian, Zanna, Irvin Jr, and Zathan, sisters Justine Panther Bone and Vera Eagle Plume & as well as many nephews and nieces.

A viewing will be held at the Legacy Funeral Home, in Cardston on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a Family Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. (Due to to COVID-19 - Limited people will be allowed in the building at a time.)
