
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, sister, mother. aunt, niece, cousin & friend Nora Lucy BLACK RABBIT-POTTS (Aaistsiiniikii). Nora was born on January 28, 1968 in Cardston, AB and passed away suddenly in Airdrie, AB on December 2, 2020, at the age of 52 years old.
Nora is survived by her Mother, Carolla (Hugh) Hanley, her children; Mitchell Jr., Iris, Colin, Aaron, Ashley, Tyler & Steven. Her grandsons, Her sisters; Mary Starlight, Janice Shingoose, Delores Hanley, Denice Hanley & Cheryl Hanley. Her brother, Marvin Black Rabbit. Nora also leaves to mourn many relatives from the Many Children Clan, Tall Timber Clan & Fish Eater Clan.
Growing up, Nora was the middle child so she was constantly surrounded by her siblings, cousins and extended family. She was content being in the company of her large family and was very happy to spend time with our relatives at a recent bundle opening this fall.
Nora was Mom's constant companion & took it upon herself to accompany her to appointments, errands and essential pick ups. They had their special breakfast and lunch dates that Mom will miss dearly. She made sure mom's house was nice & clean and this Thanksgiving, Nora cooked us a wonderful turkey dinner.
Nora enjoyed cooking, cleaning, yard work, tending to mom's garden and was especially thrilled to say, "I made a salad from mom's garden. Nora loved a humble lifestyle. She enjoyed going on walks, reading and being with her sons and Mother. Nora was constantly reminded that she was rich with family and friends.
Nora attended school in Calgary Alberta, Airdrie Alberta, and on the Blood Reserve. She was a Teacher's Assistant with Samson Band and did Construction work for many years.
Nora was predeceased by her father, Ernest Black Rabbit, her brothers; Barry Black Rabbit and Ernest Black Rabbit Jr., her nephew Jonathan Big Plume, her grandparents; Steven Fox Sr. Emma & George Many Feathers, Arthur Soop. Her aunts; Delores Fox, Bernadette Fox, Martha Potts, Agnes Black Rabbit, Josephine Wolf Leg. Her cousins; Stephanie Fox, Franklin Black Rabbit, Larissa Black Rabbit, Cody Black Rabbit.
A wake will be held at the Legacy Funeral Home, in Cardston on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
(Due to to COVID-19 - Limited people will be allowed in the building at a time.)
A Private Family Service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
