Obituary for Stephanie Rae Prairie Chicken Stephanie Rae Prairie Chicken, beloved daughter, sister, mother, granddaughter, niece, and cousin, passed away in our home at the age of 23. Born on December 18/2001 the third child of Felicia Good Dagger and Sheldon "Scotty" Prairie Chicken, Stephanie entered the world with a fire and energy that never dimmed. Her laughter filled every space she walked into, and her love wrapped tightly around those she cared for. Stephanie was known for her “wicked energy”—a presence that lit up the lives of everyone around her. Her voice was unforgettable, her heart unshakable, and her loyalty unmatched. To her siblings—Laticia, Tanisha, Schyesler —she was more than a sister; she was a protector, a best friend, and a radiant soul who brought both strength and joy. She leaves behind her three beautiful children—Milani, Sim, and Ezai—who were her heart and her purpose. She also leaves cherished memories with her nieces and nephews: Kilo, Manaya, Taleeiah, and Nugget. Stephanie’s life was deeply intertwined with her extended family, who brought her endless love and laughter. She is lovingly remembered by her other siblings-Ross, Lois, Trevis, cousins-Des, Dom, Clayton, Tazz, Calida, Tyre, Mazi, Coby, Trey, Zaya, Mario, Savanah, Sativa, Blaze, and Matt. Her aunties—Gail, Brandi, Monica, and Shirley—and her uncles—Leon, Phil, John, Nick, Ricky, Clifford, Leroy, and Broderick—each held a special place in her heart. Stephanie now rests in peace with the family who went before her: her sister Gina Mary Good Dagger; grandparents Margaret Rabbit, Ross Prairie Chicken, Lucy Prairie Chicken, and Lila Prairie Chicken; cousins Mary-Margaret Good Dagger, Derrick Good Dagger, and Tyler Good Dagger; and uncles Terrance Good Dagger and Lornie Good Dagger. We take comfort knowing they have embraced her with love on the other side. Though our hearts are heavy and her absence is deeply felt, Stephanie's memory lives on in every shared story, every burst of laughter, and every act of love. Her spirit remains with us—wild, radiant, and unforgettable.
A Wake Service for Stephanie will be held on Tuesday, June 10 from 7:00 – 11:00 pm at Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at 12:00 pm at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church, Blood Reserve. Interment to follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Stand Off, AB.
