
Rosie Reyes “Ootahko pannikim”
It is with deep sadness the family announce the passing of Rosie Reyes (nee: Prairie Hen) of the Poot’tsa’kiiks on Wednesday September 20, 2023 in Seattle, Washington. Rosie was born April 17, 1935 to Arthur Soop Sr. and Mary Morning Bird(Vielle).
Rosie was adopted by Maurice and Eva (Crow Spreads His Wings) Prairie Hen. She was raised in farm four with her adopted siblings Suzie and Butch (Crow) Prairie Hen. Rosie enjoyed riding horses in her younger years. Her first job was babysitting for the late Pat and Bibi Eagle Child.
Rosie worked in Lethbridge, Cardston, Vauxhall, Edmonton and Calgary. In the 70s she moved to Yakima Washington and eventually settled in Seattle, Washington with her husband Marty and family. She was a homecare provider working with the elderly until her retirement.
Rosie is survived by her son Lester Crow Spreads His Wings and grandson Derrick McQuakay. Aunty Thresea Many Grey Horses(Vielle) and Charlie Crow Chief. Rosie is survived by numerous nieces and nephews to many to mention.
Rosie was predeceased by her husband Marty Reyes and daughter Francis Bull Shields (McQuakay). Siblings: Margaret Good Dagger, Blaise Good Dagger, Helen Good Dagger, George Good Dagger, Bertha Good Dagger, Gordan Good Dagger, Rosalita Morning Bird, Harley Morning Bird and Harry Morning Bird.
A Wake Service will be held on Thursday, September 28 at Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve from 7:00 – 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Friday, September 29 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
