FREEDA REDFORD SCHOW, passed away in Cardston, Alberta on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the age of 95 years. Freeda was born in Leavitt, Alberta on April 16, 1921.
She is survived by 5 sons and one daughter: Brian (Susan) Schow of Calgary, Alberta, Rick (Terry) Schow of Cardston, George (Gail) Schow of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Geraldine (Dan) Unger of Chico, California, Larry (Kathy) Schow of Cardston, and Kevin (Heather) Schow of Highland, Utah, as well as 34 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and her sister Gwen Rasmussen.
Freeda was predeceased by her husband, Paul, her son, Tom and her three brothers, Rex, Audran and Hugh Redford.
Freeda was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in many callings throughout her life, but most particularly in the Relief Society auxiliary of the church.
She was very involved much of her life in sports including playing softball, organizing, coaching and meticulous score keeping of countless sporting events.
Freeda was a loving, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who was very involved with her grandchildren. She loved to attend any of their events. Basketball games that her grandsons played in brought out the “spunky” side of her otherwise docile personality.
She created many “memory books” to share with her progenitors, was a prolific quilter and loved crossword puzzles.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, South Hill Chapel, in Cardston, on Friday, February 17th, at 11:00 a.m.
Friends may meet the family from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment to follow in the Cardston Cemetery.
