We are never truly prepared for any type of passing. Unfortunately, it’s with much sadness to announce the passing of lovely Jayden Schuberg in Lethbridge, Alberta, on Monday May 13, 2024, at the age of 24 years old.
Jayden was born on July 24, 1999 to the parents Jack Schuberg and the late Elita Hairy Bull (Wolf Child) and grandparents the late Bertha Black Face Hairy Bull and the late Martin Wolf Child.
She will be sadly missed and remembered by her two children Pippa and Avi. She will be talked fondly of to her newborn nephew Walker Schuberg. Jayden is also survived by her brothers Kai, Kaden (Saydie), and Rylan Schuberg. Uncles Gilbert (Jessica) Hairy Bull, Jon (Candace) Bird, Neal (Veronica) Wolf Child and Leon (Tara) Day Chief. Aunts Tamara (Jim) Wasacase, Cheryl Hairy Bull, Melissa and Marcy Wolf Child. Adopted aunts Alana Bird, Leanne Eagle Plume and Heather Eagle Plume. Great Aunts Geraldine (Richard) Wells, Stella Wolf Child, Theresa (Alfie) Red Crow and Joyce Wolf Child. Great uncles Gilbert (Shirley) Wolf Child. One great great aunt Lena Chief Calf. step grandpa Homer Young Pine. Cousins & Friends Shantelle (Julian), Ramzie, Leshay, Kobi Anne & sisters, Melissa Many Grey Horses (Tyson), Laura Lee Yellow Feet, and team mates of the War Bonnets.
Jayden was raised within the Blood Reserve by her parents and later the late Bertha Black Face (Hairy Bull). She was raised alongside her siblings and cousins whom Bertha has taken under her wing for their teenage years. Jayden attended a variety of schools, later spending much of her schooling years in Cardston, and later thoughts of further upgrading. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends during her school years, often spending time making further special bonds and friendships within and after school. When she wasn’t out making friends, she was home bonding with her siblings and cousins whom she would take as sisters and brothers.
She would assist and help her late Grandmother with chores around the house. Always willing to lend a helping hand to her elders. Much like all youngsters, her ambitions changed to a variety of things throughout the years. She even expressed a desire to become a Police Officer at some point, wishing to serve and protect her fellow Natives. She initially thought of playing basketball, but took greater interest in softball, doing a similar sport much like her father. During the years she moved to Red Deer, she began to learn a variety of skills as well as striving to improve herself as an individual.
Jayden, later in life, gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Pippa. She devoted much of her time, energy, and love towards her daughter. Later, she provided her daughter with a younger brother, Avi, who she also held a lot of strong love for. She greatly loved and adored her children.
Jayden, much like many natives, had her own personal struggles growing up. But much like her mother, she fought and worked towards improving herself, not only for her own sake, but her kids sake. Alas, she can rest easy knowing she did the best that she could, but must now rest her tired soul with those who have also been suffering.
Jayden enjoyed a great variety of music, loved watching TV shows as well as playing FPS games. She was always making those around her laugh from her wild humour and would always lend an ear to those who needed it.
She would go out of her way to help others and offer a source of comfort, never making anyone feel alone. Jayden was a very outgoing individual, working hard with her fellow teammates on the War Bonnets team. They won plenty of games and got very far in competitions. Jayden can rest easy knowing she has affected many with her funny and kind spirit, no matter the distance and time separated. She was always someone who you can easily pick up a conversation with like no time has passed since last talking with her. She will be remembered for the fight against her sickness, the huge love she had for her kids, which was her reason to improving.
Jayden will join her loved ones in the happy hunting grounds; Grandmother Bertha Black Face (Hairy Bull), grandpa Martin Wolf Child, Mother Elita Hairy Bull, great grand parents Sam & Elizabeth Wolf Child, Lawrence & Jane Hairy Bull; Aunties Natasha Hairy Bull, Catherine Wolf Child, Josephine Vielle, Martha & Bella Wolf Child; Uncles Phillip Hairy Bull, Larry Hairy Bull, Samuel Wolf Child, Edmund Wolf Child; Cousins Jagger Eagle Plume, Marvin, Jacinta and Greyson Wells (Smith), Kevin & Colin Vielle, Rochelle Wolf Child and daughter Nevaeh Red Crow, Kerry, Robert, & Bradley Day Chief, and Sharon Bird, Jessica Morning Bird, and numerous relatives and friends that have gone before her.
