The family of VINCENT BRENT SELK is deeply saddened to announce the death of their husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Left to mourn him is his wife Kathy, and his children: Christine (Marlin) Hogg, Kerry (Stacy) Selk, Ken (Shelly) Selk, Darren (Robyn) Selk, Shawn (Cindy) Selk, and Teresa (Kirk) Montebello. He also leaves behind 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was also loved by large families of siblings, nieces and nephews.
Vince loved sports and was active in his youth in many different sports, with hockey and rodeoing among his favourites. He then spent many years coaching and refereeing different sports. He also donated a lot of his time to different sporting councils and boards. He loved to play golf, and his children and grandchildren all have many memories of time on the golf cart with grandpa.
Vince had a strong faith and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions during his life. He loved the time that he was able to serve in the temple.
Dad loved his family and would go to any length and travel any distance to be with them at various events (whether children, grandchildren or siblings). He made a point of finding out what was new and exciting in each of our lives.
The family would like to thank those on the medical teams that took care of our father, especially Dr. Brian Low and Dr. Justin Low (and so many other people) for making him comfortable. We would also like to acknowledge our mother for her years of loving care.
Dad, we will miss you.
