It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of MICHAEL FREDERICK SHAW, who peacefully passed away on October 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 80.
He shared his life with his beloved wife, Rita Jalayne (Broadhead) Shaw, with whom he built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Together, they raised a big family, which became Michael’s greatest joy.
Michael was a hardworking man who valued family and would always go out of his way to help those he loved. He is survived by his loving wife, Rita, and their children:
• Darilyn (Steve) and their children Brad (Sharaya), Brooklyn (Carson), Kelsey (Daniel) and Mikela (Buddy)
• Lori (Darin) and their children Bobbi (Josh),Jordan, Halie (Ty), and Jena (Kris)
• Wendy (Wes) and their children Kash (Kendra), Kasey (Ben), Austin (Trista), and Tylor(JD)
• Steve and his daughter Stephanie (Kane)
• Kent and his son Jaxon
• Todd (Angie) and their children Kaysen (Ashley) and Blakley
He was blessed with 23 great-grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy.
Mike especially loved spending time at the family cabin in Waterton Parks, where he found peace, joy, and created many cherished memories with his loved ones.
He was predeceased by his parents, Beryl and Robert Shaw.
Mike will be remembered for his steady love, his loyalty, and adventure of the outdoors. His legacy of family, his hardworking nature, his sarcastic humour and the love of his life Rita Jalayne will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
No funeral service will be held.
Family will gather and celebrate Mike’s life at a later date.
