DANIEL MICHAEL SHEWCHUK passed away on April 1, 2020 in Cardston Alberta at the age of 72. He is survived by his wife Hazel and 4 children Amber (David) Johansen, Carmen (Myles) Geurts, Lance Shewchuk and Leah Cahoon. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren Loren, Peter, Anna, Jenna, Talia, Porter, Makae, Clara, Kelsi and Thorin. He is predeceased by his parents Mike and Nonie Shewchuk and son Glenn Shewchuk.
He was the kind of man that got a lot of joy looking at a wheat field. He could throw a baseball as far as you could see and strum a guitar and sing unashamedly. He always said he was proud to be a Shewchuk and honoured his Ukraine heritage. He worked as a nurse but was a carpenter in his heart. He loved tinkering and jimmy-rigging things in the most unusual ways. He had patience to spare and lived for almost 20 years with serious heart problems. This didn’t deter him, he loved his cars and would drive great distances to visit family; brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles and cousins all across the provinces. But most of all he had an amazing love for the gospel, he worked tirelessly in the temple and emulated the Savior everyday.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
2 Timothy 4:7
