In Loving Memory of Louisa Eve Grace Shouting (Napiiaakii)
October 9, 2003 – Sept 29, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend -- Louisa Eve Grace Shouting (Napiiaakii). Born on October 9, 2003, at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, Louisa brought love, laughter, and light into the lives of everyone who knew her.
Louisa is deeply mourned by her loving parents, Kelly Old Shoes and Joe Shouting, and cherished by her siblings: Hailey, Declan, Kyson, Chrissy, LaDaya, Tarveah, Lakota, and Tila (Honey). She is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Becky Old Shoes (Harley Young Pine), and her paternal grandmother Melanie Shouting. One of her special connections was with her great-grandfather John Old Shoes.
Louisa was the first-born grandchild on both sides of her family — a role she embraced with love and pride. She shared a deep and unbreakable bond with her grandmothers, Becky and Melanie. Known affectionately by many nicknames — Lulu, Legs, Louisiana, Lewinsky, “Mini Me” or “Jr” to her dad, and “Maweeza” to her Aunty Tamara — each name reflected the unique relationships she nurtured with those closest to her.
Louisa was a fiercely loyal sister and friend. She was protective of her siblings, always ready to stand up for them with her trademark boldness and fierce love. “Show me them and I’ll kick their ass,” she’d say if she heard someone was bothering her brother — a perfect example of her fiery spirit and big heart.
Though she was outspoken and unafraid to speak her mind, Louisa had a sweet shyness when meeting new people. She would often ask her mom, “Can you do this for me?” — a reminder of the soft, gentle side she showed to those she trusted most.
Louisa loved babies — they brought out her nurturing side. Whether it was holding them, caring for them, or playfully "stealing" them away for cuddles, she adored her little ones, especially Kyson and Chichi, whom she lovingly referred to as “her babies.” She defended them fiercely and loved them unconditionally.
She is survived by many aunties: Melanie (Lori), Jessica, Kirsten (Tom), Candice, Theresa, Tammy, Crystal, Tamara, Velvet, Vanessa, Georgette, and Kathy, Stella WC, Joyce WC, Barb BB, Jody LW; and by her uncles: Kevin V. Leon DC and Marshall V. Along with several extended family, we apologize for any names missed. She was especially close to Aunty Velvet, who would drop everything to be there for her. Their time together — filled with music, drives, and laughter — will be deeply missed.
Louisa was predeceased by her great-grandparents Josephine and Herman Vielle, Eddie and Odile Shouting, Victor and Louisa Chief Body, Joe and Minnie Shouting, and Holly Old Shoes; her grandpa Kevin Vielle; her uncles Marvin Shouting, Loboy Shouting, Colin Vielle, and Tweedy Old Shoes; and her aunties Tasha Calfrobe and Gina Chiefbody, and Cindy Old Shoes. Cousin Tyren Calf Robe. The loss of her great-grandmother Josephine, whom she had a very special bond with, deeply affected Louisa. They shared many powwow trips, kitchen conversations, and moments of joy — memories that shaped the young woman Louisa became.
Louisa is remembered fondly by her many cousins, including: Kevin, Taleaya, Paisly, Chichi, Tandi, Teely, Tylen, Ed, Jolene, Evans, Trayton, Rylyn, Kyra, Kellan, Leland, Zoey, Kingsley, Kelis, and Kyrah — with countless others from her large extended family. Tandi, Devon, Alora, Chrissy, and Taleaya were not just cousins, but sisters in every way.
She had many friendships throughout her life, but those who grew up with her held a special place in her heart, including Sunshine Red Crow, Hailey Shotboth Sides, Hailey Wolf Child, Elisha Bullcalf, Joel Heavy Head, Torrance Plaited Hair, Maggie Plaited Hair and many others she met along the way.
To know Louisa was to love her. She had a bold, vibrant personality and a deep love for music—especially belting out her favorite songs during long drives. Her infectious laughter, unwavering loyalty to family, and joyful spirit lit up every room she entered. Louisa was a devoted companion to her mom, always ready for a spontaneous trip or a scenic drive, music always playing in the background. She shared an unbreakable bond with her dad, Joe, spending countless hours together listening to music and exchanging stories. Louisa was deeply connected to both of her parents, and her love for them was at the heart of who she was.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported Louisa throughout her life. A special thank you to Constable Mason, who showed her kindness and compassion during difficult times — your care meant more than words can express.
Louisa, you will always be our baby. Your light, your love, and your spirit will live on in all of us. We will carry you in our hearts forever.
