It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marvin Clayton Shouting, Isstsitsoomahkaa, beloved Dad, Papa, Brother, and Uncle, on Monday, April 21st, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at the Chinook Regional Hospital. He was 56 years old, born on May 26, 1968, in Cardston, AB.

Marvin is survived by his pride and joy, his only child, daughter Tyne (Cyrus), and his cherished grandchildren, Ariyah and Rhen. He adored them deeply and would drop everything to support them in every aspect of their lives. Over the past decade, Marvin also developed a close bond with his three step-grandchildren, Cali, Max, and Cyrus Jr., whom he respected and loved as if they were his own.

An avid hockey fan, Marvin passionately supported the Calgary Flames, holding a season ticket regardless of the team's performance. Football also captured his heart, particularly the Denver Broncos. He loved all sports and enjoyed playing Sports Select. If he couldn't catch his favorite teams live, he'd often say, "I'll go home and watch the game on my 80-inch TV!" His enthusiasm for electronics was evident; whenever a new gadget was released, he was always among the first to acquire it.

Marvin began his career in the plumbing and heating trade, learning alongside his father, the late Eddie Shouting Sr., and his brother, the late Eddie Shouting Jr. An entrepreneur at heart, he ventured into various businesses, starting with cistern cleaning, which he found particularly fulfilling. Through this endeavor, he forged many lifelong friendships. Prior to his illness, he was still actively working in this capacity and was in the process of setting up a driving range at his late parents’ residence. His entrepreneurial spirit never waned, as he even purchased duct cleaning equipment for his next venture, although he was unable to pursue it.

Music was another of Marvin's passions, especially from the 80s and 90s. His Sirius station was always tuned to Octane, and he eagerly sought the best seats for concert announcements. In his younger years, he attended many concerts in Calgary and Edmonton, with memorable performances by bands like Def Leppard, ACDC, Motley Crue, and Shinedown. The highlight of these outings was always gathering with friends afterward to celebrate the night. His love for music was a constant source of joy in his life.

Marvin is also survived by his sisters, Georgette (Danny), Melanie, Tamara, and Kathy (Vince), along with several nieces and nephews. He had a wide circle of friends, too numerous to mention, but he held a special bond with a group he considered brothers: Cameron, Emery, Basil, Darryl, Darrel, Jonathan, and Chubby. If any friends were overlooked, we sincerely apologize.

He was predeceased by his parents, the late Eddie and Odile Shouting, and his brother, Eddie Shouting Jr.; his nieces, Natasha Calf Robe and Gina Chief Body; his maternal grandparents, Victor and Louise Chief Body; his paternal grandparents, Joe and Minnie Shouting; and several aunts, uncles, and relatives.

Tyne & Cyrus and their children, Ariyah and Rhen, will deeply miss their Dad, friend and Papa. She will ensure that the kids never forget him, as he was a loving father and grandfather.
WE WILL TRULY MISS YOU!!
