ADELINE MARY SINGER - Matsistaotoikamoosaakii has gone to be with our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 98 years on February 17, 2017.
Adeline is survived by her brother Mervin Brave Rock, Louise Brave Rock (Jackson); her loving daughters: Loretta Eagle Tail Feathers, Maria Stimson of Siksika, AB, Arlene (Campbell) Eagle Child of Standoff; one adopted daughter Lenore Stiff Arm of Rocky Boy, Montana; adopted sons Tommy (Mildred) Carpenter from Lodge Grass, Montana, Frances (Butch) Wolf Leg from Siksika, AB. She has 29 grandchildren, 48 great grand children, 31 great great grand children.
Adeline was born in Browning, Montana to Parents George and Maggie(Little Skunk) Night Shoot. She lived in Browning with her grandmother - attended school in Browning and Cut Bank. She later resided at the St. Paul’s Anglican Residential School. On November 2, 1936, she married Billy Singer .(Matsiisikapiohkitopi ) She moved to Moses Lake to care for her mother Maggie during her illness of cancer. Mom enjoyed Pow Wows and Indian Days. Mom always kept a garden and was a good home keeper. She had her training with Nechi and later worked as a dietitian and Councilor at St. Paul’s Treatment center for a number of years with Sylvia Tail Feathers. She joined the Four Worlds Health program at the U of L by Phil Lane. Mom was very active she swam, rode horse back, walked a lot to visit at her adopted Mother Helen Crochrane, and to her friend Eva Mill’s. She loved preparing native traditional food, and she was an awesome seamstress and sewed native regalia, her trademark was making her broach moccasins she gave away. Mom later resided at the Kainai Continuing Care Facility until her passing. We would like to thank all the HCA’s and LPN’s and Registered Nurses who took care of Mom.
Predeceased by her Husband of 63 years William Billy Singer; her brothers; Ted and Wilfred Brave Rock; sisters: Gladys Buckskin, Alvina Crop Eared Wolf, Ruth Lafrance, Kay Brooks, Pearl Grant , Gloria Eagle Tail Feathers; children: Karl, Merold, Clarence, Eldon, Burton, Pierson, Peter, Theodore, and Florine.
The Family Service will be at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Friday, Feb. 24th at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Wake Service at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Saturday, Feb. 25th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
