Jacob (Jake) Wayne Sydor
It is with deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Jacob (Jake) Wayne Sydor, at the age of 48 years.
Jake was born in Lethbridge, AB but spent his youth in Courtney, BC on Vancouver Island enjoying nature and the ocean. Jake was charming and made friends easily. At a young age he was curious and loved to listen and learn. He had a taste for good food and liked to cook. Jake was adventurous which landed him on the front page of the Courtney newspaper, at 10 years of age, when he was lost on Mt Washington after a skiing trip. Jake was not dressed for the night weather so he kept walking to stay warm. The rescue team followed his tracks over a mile “up” the mountain before they finally found him in a temporary shelter he had made. As an adult Jake moved to Edmonton where he resided until his passing.
Jacob is survived by his daughter, Natasha Kirk; mother, Suzanne McPherson; father, Wayne Sydor; grandmother, Bonnie Law; and other family and friends.
A private family service will be held, Saturday, November 14, 2020 in Glenwood, Alberta. Interment to follow at the Glenwood Cemetery.
