It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Terence Tailfeathers Ik’kayota’si (Owns a fast horse) on January 19, 2022 on the Blood Reserve, AB at the age of 44 years old.
Terence was born on April 29, 1977 in Cardston, Alberta to Carrie Tailfeathers and the late Melvin Stabsdown. Terence is survived by his mother Carrie Tailfeathers, daughters Kyla (Teigan), Beth & Macey. Sisters Shannon & Tamara. Brothers Damien (Skye), Jaime, Tanner & Dory.
Terence grew up in Bullhorn & Old Agency and later making his home in Old Agency in his adult years. Terence attended school in Cardston, Lethbridge and Fort Macleod graduating from
F.P. Walshe in 1996. Over the years Terence worked various jobs as a labourer, this was his passion as he always liked to work on projects that involved building homes, renovating homes basically anything that involved his hands. A trade that Terence was determined to finish before his passing was the Project Management program through the Lethbridge College. His Grandma Rosemarie loved the help around her home from Terence as he did everything from cooking to cleaning and yard work to repairing small jobs around her home. Grandma knew Terence was someone she could depend on for that help.
Terence was always a rambunctious child he loved to play and always kept busy, sometimes his no fear ways would cause him to get hurt since he was an accident-prone child, this never stopped Terence though he would deal with the scars and go about playing around outside or wherever he was again. He was always a leader who led his siblings around even though he was the second oldest and this was because he was the adventurous child. In his later years his adventurous lifestyle continued, he was one to never hold back a good time.
When Terence became a father he was ecstatic, he loved his daughters dearly and was considered a “cool dad” because he was so laid back. His daughters were his pride and joy he always made sure that his girls knew that he loved them. The girls loved to be with their father because he gave his children that warmth and love, and they always knew that they could get away with certain things because he felt bad disciplining them.
Terence was a very friendly man who had many friends and could strike up a conversation with anyone, his infectious laugh could make the whole room laugh. Terence always opened up his home to everyone, he was never one to turn anyone away, he felt bad if they didn’t have a place to stay. He loved to cook and would cook for everyone it was his kind gesture to everyone, and he sure knew how to whip up a meal especially his big breakfasts for his girls. One of his favorite pastimes was to whip up his Skor cake it was his speciality, in fact this was the only cake he would make for all occasions. Terence was a sharp dresser and always dressed to the nines he was always complimented on his style he was like this since he was a teenager.
Terence also had a love for his Cadillac’s and owned a few, he always preferred this make of car since he loved to travel in style. Although Terence had his struggles he always kept his heart close to home and reassured his daughters that he always loved them.
