CAMERON LEWIS TALLOW
“That we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose,
for all that we love deeply, becomes part of us”
Na’tawii Poota’an – Holy Spirit
With heavy hearts the Tallow family announces the sudden passing of our dear son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and beloved friend Cameron Lewis Tallow on June 24, 2021, at the age of 43 years in Lethbridge, Alberta. Cameron is survived by his children Jayda Crying Head, Quaydon and Lane Tallow; grandson and granddaughter; siblings Kelsey Tallow and Gillian Wolf Plume; adopted mother Brenda Chief Moon, aunties Carrie Black Plume Maryann Holy Singer, Agnes Shouting, and uncle Bernard Shouting.
Cameron was born on June 4, 1978, to the late Patsy Marie Tallow and the late Lewis Panther Bone. Patsy’s relatives and siblings were also a big part of raising Cameron and he remained close with them until his passing. Cameron was raised on the Blood Reserve in the Standoff, Moses Lake and Lavern Communities. He attended schools in these areas as well as the Cardston Elementary and Jr. High School. It was during these years that he became known as a humorous character who would be known to make everyone laugh and often caused disruptions in class. Cameron was also a charmer and often talked his way out of getting in trouble. Cameron attended the St. Mary’s High School and made lifelong friends that still remember his crazy antics on the bus that usually landed him in detention. Cameron was raised from around 11 years of age into adulthood by his auntie and uncle Brenda and Jordan Chief Moon. He was definitely a rambunctious boy who made many family trips memorable with his playfulness and mischievous pranks on his siblings. His siblings learned to check every door before opening otherwise they would end up having a bucket full of water come crashing down on their head.
Cameron decided early in life that his life would lead a different than most people and made sure he was always humble and kind to anyone he met. It is this lesson that was his greatest legacy besides his children and grandchildren. Cameron had children with Yolanda Wolf Child and the late Donna Crying Head. He adored and cherished his children and grandchildren. Cameron could always be counted on to help with his nieces and nephews as they all looked up to him and enjoyed his company. Cameron could always steal the spotlight in any crowd with his inappropriate jokes and boisterous laugh. He considered his relatives and friends to be kin and could always be counted on to call out “cousin” as his way of greeting. His siblings often worried about him due to his wandering habits, and he would always say “don’t worry about me sister, you know brother is a survivor” with a smirk and chuckle. Cameron often faced struggles and obstacles and would always face each one with the same carefree attitude and positive funny outlook. Cameron often called the Moses Lake Shelter and the Lethbridge Shelter which have left both feeling very empty and just a bit dimmer without his presence.
Cameron was predeceased by his mother Patsy Marie Tallow, father Lewis Panther Bone, uncles Marcel, Oliver and Morris Shouting Jr., and Aaron Tallow, brother Standford Tallow, adopted father Jordan Chief Moon.
Cameron was a shining light in a world where his presence immediately lifted those around him and motivated them to be kinder and appreciate the little things such as ichiban and mint tea. His random visits and brief chats will be missed. He always encouraged his younger siblings and relatives to work hard at learning Blackfoot as he was very proud of his heritage. Cameron’s humbleness, sense of humor, and kind heart will be greatly missed and the family encourages his friends and family to learn from his ways. He often made his friends day just by making the laugh and it was his motto to be kind no matter the circumstances. Please keep Cameron in your prayers as he makes his journey home where he will be greeted by loved ones gone before him. He has taken his place as our beloved guardian angel now.
The family would like to sincerely apologize for any names missed. The family would like to ask all those in attendance to be Honorary Pallbearers as Cameron considered all to be his family.
A Wake Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday July 10 from 9:00 to 11:00 am with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am.
