After a long 11 years, RUSSELL GRAYDON WALBURGER was reunited with his wife Fae (Romeril) Walburger on Sunday evening September 12, 2021. Russ was born Jan 3, 1938 at Cardston Alberta to Mary Elizabeth Bateman and Samuel Joseph Walburger. Russ attended elementary and high school in Mountain View, and was one of the last to ride a saddle horse to school for all 12 years. He attended Utah State University in Logan Utah in the fall of 1956, and graduated in 1964 with Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He also completed all the course work towards a Mater of Science in Civil Engineering on a fellowship award. Upon graduation from university, Russ worked for the State of Idaho for two years helping to build the Inter State Highway on the Utah-Idaho border. In the fall of 1959 Russ went on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, assigned to the New South Wales and Queensland mission. On June 8, 1968 he married Fae Romeril in the Cardston Temple. After getting married Russ worked for the State of Idaho one more year, then returned home to ranch and farm the original homestead of his grandparents. Russ was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings, last of which was serving in the Cardston Temple alongside his wife. Russ is survived by his his children, LaurAnn Headman, Lane Walburger, Danielle Wells, Steven Walburger, and 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Fae, sons Jason and infant boy, his parents, and siblings.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 17th, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mountain View, Alberta. Friend may meet the family from 10:00 - 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
