Zoë was born in Sparwood B.C. August 1, 1996. She was a happy baby. I remember when she was 4 years old, she was a spiritual child. She would always be talking to someone at night in her room. I would call her from my room and ask who are you talking to, she would always go quiet. Then one night she told me she was talking to my grandmother “Gia”, and the next day she told me “cedar, sage and sweet grass is for cleansing and proctection”.
Zoë was also very gullible, as I would pretend to take her nose, and she would cry and cry till I gave her nose back. She loved playing outside making mud pies. She was close to her sister Paige, they would always play or get into trouble together. During school she enjoyed playing basketball on the team. She also tried out for volleyball and baseball. She also enjoyed running long distances, she said it it made her feel free. She graduated high school in Chilliwack, B.C.
Zoë didn’t like the rules at home and left when she was around 14. She fell into the wrong group and started drinking. She kept trying to quit, going in and out of treatment centres, going through different programs.
When Zoë was 18 she had her beautiful daughter Saranda. As Saranda got older, Zoë enjoyed taking her and her niece Rose, to parks, the circus, water parks on hot days, the duck ponds to feed the ducks. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter.
Sadly drinking and drugs took over her life. In her journey she touched many hearts, and made many friends in Chilliwack that cared and loved her.
Nobody wants to have to say goodbye to their daughter, mother, aunty, sister, but sometimes God has other plans for our precious children.
A Wake service will be held at Moses Lake Community Hall, Blood Reserve on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 7:00 to 11:00 pm.
The Funeral Service will follow at Moses Lake Community Hall on Saturday, November 9 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in the St. Paul’s Cemetery, Blood Reserve.
