It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts, The family Jacinta Ann Wells is announcing her peaceful passing on Monday, March 18 at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital. She fought a courageous Battle against cancer with her rock “Son Joel” by her side day and night.

Her parents, Richard, and Geraldine Wells. Brothers Alvin Wells and Family, Kirby (Ayshia) Wells and family, Manard and Family. Sisters Jennifer (Brent) and Family, Bonnie Scout and Family, and Family of brother Late Marvin Wells. Numerous Nieces and Nephews and cousins. Uncle Gilbert (Shirley) Wolf Child Family: Aunties Bertha Weasel Fat and Family, Stella Wolf Child and Family, Theresa (Alphonse) Red Crow and Family, and Joyce Wolf Child.
Jacinta was Born in Fort Macleod and Raised in the Farm Four Area, lived in Fort Macleod and Lethbridge before returning to her parents to be with them.
She Received her education at Standoff Elementary School, W.A Day Elementary School, G.R. Davis, Kainai High School, Bow Valley College, and Calanry in the Early Learning Childcare Program.
At the time of her passing she was employed with Kainai Board of Education at the Sapoyii Elementary School. She was also employed at the Pharmacy in Standoff, and F.C.S.S- Ninastako Day Care Center.
As a young girl she was feisty and courageous. She would come to the side of her cousins and friends when they’re being bullied by other children; Thus, being their bodyguard. She was a caring and compassionate person, and she was not afraid to speak up for what she believed in. Always trying to help people and the youth. She was a go getter, she was always organizing family events, birthdays, barbecues, anniversaries along with sister Jennifer. Taking family pictures especially her grandchildren (she loved them very much) She was always fundraising for various family events and loved her bingo nights with family and friends. She is a strong supporter and loved watching her sons, brothers, nieces, and nephews in their sports activities (Hockey, Ballgames, Basketball, Dancing.) She was especially proud when she got a soccer team for her granddaughters Kaylyn and Kamire to play in, and Kaylyn in basketball at her school, Saypoyii.
Jacinta’s goal was to get something going for the youth on the reserve. JC and her son Colton got a Midget Hockey Team going called the Midget Bisons, played out of cardson site, managed the team and Colton and Ky coached the team. She was concerned about the players, what they would do after leaving the Bisons. Against all odds she worked and fought hard to get a junior team for the players to play in. She got the Kainai Junior Braves into the Heritage League. She managed the Team, and Colton Wells and Kes Day Chief were the coaches. She went through thick and thin with the team. It was during this time she found out she was going to have open heart surgery, so she couldn't go on managing the team and was given a leave of absence.
Last summer she got a soccer team going with her granddaughter Kaylyn and Kamire along with the children of family and friends. She managed to get them in AIG in Edmonton. She managed to have the head coach and a couple of his assistants from the pronghorns to work with the kids to get them prepared for the games. When they arrived in Edmonton for the AIG Games, the girls asked Jacinta “when are the coaches coming,” meaning the pronghorns Head Coach and Assistant. She told them “Your Coaches are here, girls” the girls grew confused while giving Jacinta a weird expression. “Where are they?” they asked. “Your coaches are Joel and Kes.” The girls then told Jacinta “OH” in a sad, disappointed tone.
However, despite her age, J.C left a lifetime of goals and accomplishments, she is leaving behind a lifetime of “Legacy and Precious memories’
Jacinta is predeceased by her Brother Marvin Wells; Nephews Myles Wells and Grayson Smith. Maternal Grandparents Sam and Elizbeth Wolf Child. Paternal Grandparents Dick and Katie Wells. Uncles; Sam, Edmon, and Martin Wolf Child, and Luke Wells. Aunties: Josephine Vielle, Bella Martha, Catherine Wolf Child, and Janet Wells. Numerous Cousins from the Wolf Child and Wells Families.
Jacinta will be missed dearly by her sons, grandchildren, parents, siblings and their families. By the Wolf Child and Wells Families, Friends, and Coworkers from the Sapoyii School.
A Wake Service will be held at Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve, on Monday, March 25 from 6:00 – 11:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church, Blood Reserve on Tuesday, March 26 at 11:00 am. The Interment will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Stand Off.
