Louise ZoBell from Stirling, AB, Canada passed away unexpectedly in the Dominican Republic at the age of 72 on February 8, 2026, following a fall and complications from emergency surgery. She is survived by her husband, Jack, and their children: Grant & Christy ZoBell, Charlotte & Doug Palmer, Merlin & Marina ZoBell, Devin ZoBell, Jackie & Pong Chan, Louisa & Chad Baker, Tekarra & Patrick Roach, Bonnie & Brandon Jensen, 33 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Louise is also survived by her siblings Mary Scott, Susan & Doug Murray, Keith & Lynn Webster, Barry & Laura Webster, Marilyn Bennion, Lawrence & Amy Webster, and Karen Miller, as well as Jack’s siblings Art & Norma ZoBell, Bonnie ZoBell, and Bobbie Z Peterson. She is also lovingly remembered by many others around the world who called her Mom, Grandma, Sister, and friend. She was predeceased by her parents, Grant & Lois Webster; her parents-in-law, Albert “Zip” & Norma ZoBell; her siblings-in-law Dennis Scott, Brant Bennion, Marilyn ZoBell, and Paul Peterson; and twin grand-daughters, Angel and Louisa Palmer.

Ardith Louise Webster was born on March 20,1953. A determined and capable spirit from a young age, she skipped a grade in school and graduated at just 17 years old. Shortly after, she met the love of her life: a handsome, dark haired, brown eyed, very talented accordion player! She was married for time and all eternity to Jack Leonard ZoBell in the Cardston, Alberta Temple on May 15,1971. Together they built a home full of music, love, laughter and lots of noisy chaos as they raised their eight children. Jack gave Louise wings to fly, always supporting her on her many ventures and happily checking off her honey-do list. Louise was known for her quick wit and ready jokes—some more appropriate than others—and for her love of games which she usually won (but when she didn’t, trash talk was generally involved.)

Music was always at the heart of Louise’s life, and she passed that gift on to her children and grandchildren. She first learned to play the piano on a cardboard keyboard. When it was discovered she and her sister had perfect pitch, her parents purchased a grand piano at great sacrifice even before they had running water in their home. Louise was a prolific poet and composer.  She wrote many musical works including a cantata, hymns, and many songs for her family to perform in the music festival. Louise published Songs of the Scriptures in 1986. Louise spent many hours practicing with her children and helping them develop their talents. She never missed any opportunity to watch her family perform in a school concert, music festival, or community theater!

Louise was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her testimony of the Savior and His atonement guided her life in all her interactions. Seeing God’s hand daily was easy for her.  Through her faith and prayers, she helped others recognize God’s miracles as well. Louise loved to worship in the temple.  She had many callings within the church, but her favorites were teaching Relief Society and playing the organ.

Throughout her life, Louise made countless friends through the many business ventures she was involved in. Sharing what she was passionate about came naturally to her, whether with lifelong friends or people she had just met. In 2006 she earned a business trip to the Dominican Republic. It wasn’t long before she fell in love with the people there. Much of the last two decades of her life were spent tirelessly serving those in need in the Dominican Republic, where she and Sandra Nelson founded the Dominican Starfish Foundation.
Through the Dominican Starfish Foundation, Louise helped coordinate the building of more than 300 homes, a distribution and community center, schools, playgrounds, and clinics. Hundreds of patients were treated on medical and dental trips, hundreds of students received educational support, and hundreds of thousands of food packs were delivered.  During the pandemic alone, over 500,000 meals were distributed to those in need. In 2023, Louise published Defining Moments; a memoir chronicling her journey from a childhood dream of humanitarian work to the impactful realization of her work in the Dominican Republic.  When counseling with leaders from her church about the possibility of serving an official full time mission, they said “you are already serving a full time mission — only you are not wearing a name tag.” The Dominican Starfish Foundation was (and is) her mission.

In lieu of flowers, send more flowers! Louise had a deep love for flowers, and one of her favorite hobbies was lovingly crafting casket sprays for many friends and loved ones. Alternatively, those wishing to honor Louise’s life and legacy are invited to donate to the Dominican Starfish Foundation.
